it's fall! and pumpkins!

We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday! It was a gorgeous day, warm enough to forgo the sweaters we wore (but never bothered to remove ;) ! It would have made taking photos easier if it had been a traditional Washington fall day. You know, over cast and cool

We stopped at dhs' grandmas, and went with his cousin and her two kids. It was lots of fun watching the kids run around finding the perfect pumpkins.
DH did most of the heavy lifting ;)

This was dd first choice....a little heavy for her!

how about this one?
Cousin 'Rew' helped dd pick out just the right size for her...

And I got 2 sugar pumpkins to make some pie from scratch!

Dh shucked 10 ears of yummy sweet corn. And apparently, it was too sweet to resist, because dd reached over when I wasn't looking and nibbled off some kernels, raw!
The kids thought the big bin full of corn husks and silk was pretty cool:

We wanted to run through the corn field maze too, but it would have been $31 for all of us, which would have doubled our cost for the trip, so we passed. We might go back though, it was so much fun the last time we did the maze!

I'll update this with photos tomorrow during dd's nap. They are all still loaded on the camera
