it's fall! and pumpkins!

We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday! It was a gorgeous day, warm enough to forgo the sweaters we wore (but never bothered to remove ;) ! It would have made taking photos easier if it had been a traditional Washington fall day. You know, over cast and cool

We stopped at dhs' grandmas, and went with his cousin and her two kids. It was lots of fun watching the kids run around finding the perfect pumpkins.
DH did most of the heavy lifting ;)

This was dd first choice....a little heavy for her!

how about this one?
Cousin 'Rew' helped dd pick out just the right size for her...

And I got 2 sugar pumpkins to make some pie from scratch!

Dh shucked 10 ears of yummy sweet corn. And apparently, it was too sweet to resist, because dd reached over when I wasn't looking and nibbled off some kernels, raw!
The kids thought the big bin full of corn husks and silk was pretty cool:

We wanted to run through the corn field maze too, but it would have been $31 for all of us, which would have doubled our cost for the trip, so we passed. We might go back though, it was so much fun the last time we did the maze!

I'll update this with photos tomorrow during dd's nap. They are all still loaded on the camera

lucky no. 7

i wonder how many posts today are with a similar title? not sure how lucky this 7/7/07 is for me.

i didn't get more than a few rows knitted, and dh and i got in an 'argument' of sorts. money is always stressful, and it doesn't seem to matter if you have too little, too much, or just enough.

the luckiest part of my day?

finding a pearl in my oyster!
and watching dd paint for the first time ...

she liked it so much she felt she needed to 'help' her cousins paint as well!

just a quickie

it's been a long time (not really) since my last post. i have more pictures to share! dd outside in the lovely weather we have been having and some yarn p0rn! its noro 154 (for a booga) and 4 balls of hempathy in chocolate. i think i need more hempathy for a top, but i am going to use a contrast color (like a turqoise color or tan ?? ) to finish it off. interweaves summertime tank has become my new obsession! i am knitting one in black microspun (lionbrand), plan on another with the hempathy, and i think i want to knit another in a summery blue.... there is a KAL for this!

playing outside in our front yard, she loves her giant rubber ball!

at the park, headed for the refreshing water....

helping daddy and papa fix our boat!
