i have a new toy!

i got my order from joanns today! i ordered a royal ball winder and two balls of lily cotton, hot green and sunshine. i also ordered one-skein wonder, only to realize when i opened the box that i already own this book. duh. so i am going to send it back and probably just get a refund. anyhow, here are some pics of my dyed yarn and the lily. the first pic is a great showing of the color of the dyed yarn. one came out more orange.
this is also a baby hat i am making for a friend, using peaches n' cream cotton in lemon lime. i decided the hat reminds me of sprite soda, so thats what i am calling the hat :)

i have about 5 inches done, and am just starting to decrease

i dyed more yarn

i know. i promised birthday pics, but i havent gotten the film developed. i need to get my own digital camara, so i wont have to borrow my moms for pics.

anyway, here is some pretty summery yarn i dyed on saturday night. i used lionbrand wool, two hanks, 158 yrds each. wiltons food color paste yellow and red.

it was hard to get a pic of the true colors. its not quite as soft in color, and the orange is not as peachy as it looks in these (at least to me...)

i am thinking of making a sweater, maybe a short sleeved one for dd. its so cheery!
