Coeur d'Alene

We had such a nice week in Coeur d'Alene last month.

My aunt lives just a few blocks from the park, as well as restaurants, an LYS, groceries and thrift shops. It was nice to be able to walk to get to anything we could have wanted or needed. Peanut loved playing at the park, and the beach was her favourite place. She would ask us to make her 'castles' in the sand, and then promptly brush them away with her hands, laughing. I wish we had taken pictures at the beach. :( Poor planning, and too busy having fun!

We did run into a couple who had brought their lizards for a walk in the park. they allowed kids to pet and feed them wild strawberries. Peanut loved it and was not scared at all. We watched them run around, and she followed the bigger one when he ran over to the strawberry plants.

My aunt had a tree planted (a Pin Oak) in memory of her recently passed wifey, Hope. It was a lovely tribute, with a couple of poems were read, and a few shared memories. Then we helped plant the tree, and the older kids helped water it when we were finished. It was placed in a great spot. It over looks the lake, and stands in front of a few evergreens. The pretty shade of green of the leaves really stands out. I am under the impression that a plaque will be placed as well. Hope would have loved this.

We spent one of the days at the Triple Play (3play.com) water park. We played for about 2 hours in the kiddie pool, DH went down all the slides and in the wave pool. Then we had fun playing games at the arcade after a healthy lunch of pepperoni pizza. ;) We scored almost 900 'tickets' and let Peanut pick out a bunch of toy prizes. She was looking a little tired, but insisted she wanted to play in the water more. So we did. Maybe another hour or so. It was a blast and she loved getting to see the dinosaurs. I was bit perturbed, as they wouldn't let us take her in the the wave pool, even though we put a swim diaper on her (totally unnecessary for us) and would not have let her gop for a second. The deepest part of the pool was about 4.5 ft deep. Sucky.

She did crash and nap for over 2 hours when we got back to my aunts house.

We liked it so much, that we are seriously thinking of selling the house and moving.

I picked up the book Pagan Spirituality. Good so far. I need to get a couple other books to help me on my journey.. Paganism, An Introduction and Drawing Down the Moon. I also need to get off my butt and see if there is a group that meets up close to me.

On another note as well, I can't find my 8 ounces of tussah silk fiber. :( I photographed it for my ravelry notebook, and can't remember where I stashed it. And plying coil yarns is slooooooow.
